Perry County Horse Show Rules
Show Time 10:00 AM - sharp!
Schooling is permitted until 10 minutes prior to start time.
Current Coggins required for all horses on the grounds.
Casual attire acceptable. Proper footwear and riding helmet is mandatory.

- The hosting farm, its owners, employees, committee members, volunteers, sponsors, officials, etc. will not be responsible for any accident, death, injury, loss or theft which occurs at the show or on the grounds.
- All entrants must sign a release before showing. Juniors 18 & under must have a parent or guardian sign.
- Classes will be run by USEF rules whenever possible. Should a question arise which is not covered by the rules, it will be referred to Management who's decision is final. Management reserves the right to cancel, change, or combine classes.
- Schooling will be permitted in the ring at designated times. No more than 8 horses will be permitted to school at one time.
- DANGEROUS OR UNSPORTSMAN LIKE CONDUCT IN THE RING, DURING BREAKS, DURING CLASSES OR ON THE GROUNDS IS CAUSE FOR DISMISSAL FROM THE CLASS OR SHOW AT THE DISCRETION OF THE JUDGE AND/OR SHOW MANAGEMENT.
- Scratches for a refund must be done BEFORE the division begins. No refunds will be given once the first horse for that division has entered the ring.
- Current Coggins is MANDATORY for all horses on the grounds, regardless if they are showing or not.
- All riders must wear ASTM/SEI certified helmets and proper footwear when mounted. Helmets are required at all times while mounted on the show grounds.
- NO DOGS WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE GROUNDS ****NO EXCEPTIONS****
- Grand & Reserve Champion awards are given in each division for the rider accumulating the highest number of points. Riders must compete in all classes for that division to qualify. Points are as follows: For classes with 6 or more riders: 1st - 7, 2nd - 5, 3rd - 4, 4th - 3, 5th - 2, 6th - 1. Classes with less than 6 riders: 1st - 5, 2nd - 3, 3rd - 2, 4th - 1. Riders must compete in 5 of the 8 shows, and show at the final show, to qualify for year end Grand and Reserve awards.
- In any division requiring jump heights to change, there must be at least 3 horses entered at that height in order for jumps to be raised. (i.e., Low Hunter - 3' must have 3 horses to run at that height.)
- Trainers Award - Trainers must sign up with the secretary. Students and horses names must be entered. If the horse has more than one name, enter both. Points will accrue from the date you sign up. Trainers must attend 5 of the 8 shows including the final show to receive the award.
- Rider/Horse award. riders must attend at least 5 of the 8 shows on the same horse and show at the final show. Points will be accrued starting from the first show. riders must ride the same horse and follow all cross entering restrictions. Riders cross entering into sections not permitted will not accrue any points for that show.
- Horses schooling but not showing in classes will be charged a $10.00 schooling fee.
- Stakes Classes: All stakes divisions/classes must have a minimum of 6 riders to pay out stakes money. Pay out is as follows: 1st = $10.00, 2nd = $8.00, 3rd = $5.00, 4th = $2.00. Riders/Horse must compete in the entire division to be eligible for pay outs.
